As described by Wikipedia “an avatar is a computer user’s representation of himself or herself – it is an “object” representing the embodiment of the user.” The photo at the top is my current avatar. So I guess what I am auctioning is the object from the object that is representing myself. In other words I have selected a sculpture to be auctioned on eBay. In my previous article “Do I have what it takes to be a successful artist?” is the reason why I will be auctioning one of my sculptures.

The selected “avatar” sculpture entitled “The Pumpkin Compass” will be auctioned on eBay. I entered some of the required information and uploaded 12 photos to eBay. There are only two things that I am committing to and that is. One, this will be a “No Reserve” auction, and second, I will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from this auction to “Habit for Humanity.” My target date for the start of this auction is Monday, July 7th, 2008. Below is one of the new photos that I will be using on my eBay auction of “The Pumpkin Compass.”

Do I have what it takes to be a successful artist?

Do I have what it takes to be a successful artist?

As I mentioned before, I am trying to focus in on a couple areas of my life in which I can excel at. One possible area is with my metal sculptures. To see how much interest there is for my art, I have decide that I will list one sculpture on eBay. Below is what I have written so far for this listing. I will update this adventure regularly. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Do I have what it takes to be a successful artist? Finding the answer to that question is fundamentally more important to me than finding the answer to the question – can I sell one of my sculptures?

Every one of us has great skills and talents waiting to be unleashed. Maybe by me offering a new home to my sculpture “__________” I can find the answer as to whether or not there is an enlightening new journey for me as an artisan.
